I have enclosed the agenda for Thursday's meeting.

AGENDA - September 21, 2006

(1) Meeting Date & Time
We can briefly discuss a convenient time to hold our Green Sanctuary Committee meetings.

(2) Iowa Interfaith Power & Light
The public launch of Iowa Interfaith Power and Light will take place on Sunday, October 8th from 1-5 pm at Plymouth Congregational Church in Des Moines. Our congregation does not have a representative available to attend this meeting. The committee needs to decide whether UUSBHC should become an organizational member of this organization.

(3) Green Audit
We will be discussing our baseline as a congregation. If you have not had an opportunity to review the Green Audit form, please take a moment to review the categories so we can establish a baseline on where UUSBHC stands on these issues.

(4) Application for Green Sanctuary Candidacy
We will take preliminary steps toward compiling our 12 step Action Plan.Our plan will include 12 projects or activities in the areas of  Worship and Celebration, Religious Education, Environmental Justice, and Sustainable Living. Some of these activities or projects could be one-time events while others will be on-going over a period of months. A minimum of 2 activities or projects is required in the categories of  Worship and Celebration, Religious Education, & Environmental Justice. A minimum of  4 activities or projects is required in the category of Sustainable Living, with one of these being an energy conservation activity. Two additional activities can be selected from any of Worship and Celebration, Religious Education, Environmental Justice or Sustainable Living.

(5) Other Business
We will discuss any additional issues from committee members.
